Saona Excursion Summamry
The excursion starts by picking you up from your hotel and drive you to Bayahibe, which takes approximately one hour. From there we will proceed to take you to our Saona Island, you have a choice of traveling by speedboat or catamaran. Saona Island is a large national park with an amazing beauty. We will be stopping at a natural swimming pool between the mainland and Saona. From there we will continue to Saona Island, once you arrive at Saona Island you will enjoy cocktails on a floating bar with Dominican music. From 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. you will have access to an all you can eat BBQ buffet, full bar and the use of hammocks.

Saona Island History
The Island Santa was named “Saona” by Christopher Columbus and was discovered in may 1494 on his way to the Americas. The name Saona was determined to honor the municipality of Savona, where Christopher Columbus lived at the time of his trip to the Americas. Christopher Columbus named his friend Michele da Cuneo from Savona, first governor of the Saona Island.
